Trip to the farm

We visited the town where Amy was born and where many of her family still reside. Last time we went was in 2005 when we only had 1 kid (with one on the way). Rather than fly from Sky Harbor, we flew from what was once Williams Gateway airport now know as Phoenix-Mesa airport on Allegiant airline. Allegiant flys directly to Joe Foss field in Sioux Falls SD which is about 70 or so miles to Amy's hometown of Tyler. We all had a great time. Activities included:
  • picking peas out of great grandma's garden and eating them right there
  • picking wild rhubarb and making jam and then a pie
  • fixing great grandma's mower
  • replacing the cabinet in the bathroom and drain and faucet
  • going to the fair (note the wheel-of-death that Amy and Dylan rode)
  • smelling the animals from the 4H club
  • watching uncle dean win the demolition derby
  • watching dylan participate in the "kid tractor pull"
  • playing in the corn
